number of out of town retail parks and the town centre is pleasant and
historical with smaller winding streets, precincts and traditional markets to
explore.
You can
also be sure of excellent employment prospects here in Wrexham, which is the
powerhouse of the North Wales economy. A
diverse manufacturing centre, it has world class companies such as Kellogg’s,
JCB, Tetrapak, Cadbury, Ball Packaging Europe, Sharp, Hoya and Brother
Industries.
Wrexham
is also a University town, so if continuing in education is your goal there are
courses at Yale College
which can lead you onto Glyndŵr
University for Higher

Getting
out into the countryside is easy in Wrexham. Situated in the Welsh borderlands,
we are lucky to have breathtaking scenery on our doorstep with a wealth of
beauty spots, world heritage sites and renowned cultural attractions. St Giles
Church, Erddig House, Chirk
Castle and the
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct are just some of the must see attractions in Wrexham! You
can take beautiful walks in our many country parks or enjoy opportunties for
outdoor pursuits like mountain biking, climbing or canoeing which are all popular
in the local area. The spectacular coastline and rugged mountains of North Wales with its many castles and historical sites,
are just a short drive away.
Wrexham
is also ideally placed for easy access to city life, culture and entertainment.
The major cities and towns of the North
West and their airports and attractions are just a
short drive away. Wrexham is only a 45 minute drive from Manchester
and Manchester Airport,
a 40 minute drive from Liverpool and just 15 minutes from the centre of Chester. The Shropshire border is also only a few minutes’ drive away.
Sports
facilities are plentiful. The Waterworld complex with its extensive sport and
leisure facilities is situated a few yards from the College as are sports and
fitness clubs and also the Queensway Sports Centre with its athletics track.
The Racecourse Football ground has undergone a substantial development and
Wrexham is very proud of its football team.

its central location, great transport links and many attractions, Wales’s fourth
largest town, Wrexham is an excellent place to study
